As the sun sets on the last day of 2014, probably the worst year of my life, I wish all my friends and family a wonderful, joyous, peaceful and prosperous new year. May this be a golden year, all your dreams coming true!
A merry Christmas to all my friends and family. Have a wonderful day with your loved ones, rejoicing in that we are loved unmeasurably by our Father.
It always amazes me how nature works together to maximise survival.
I saw this old burnt-out tree and it grabbed my attention. One can see how it is slowly being used to give back to nature as it decays.
Promising rain but nature at rest as summer progresses.
It didn't look as if there was going to be any sunset last night. It was cloudy with little sunlight and I thought I was going to waste my time. As often before, however, nature surprised me and this explosion of light happened, it looked as if the mountain was on fire. I decided to do this panorama as my wide-angle lens just wasn't wide enough to capture this expanse.
A weird sunset as there was a lot of smoke around.
The other night, driving to Melbourne to see my new grandson, the weather was doing some crazy things. I just had to do a quick stop to snap this.
We spend a lovely time with my brother, Wim, and his family the weekend. We visisted the Grampians Mountains, and it is wonderful to see all the new colours of spring.
What an amazing night last night was. I could have watched the lunar eclipse from my back verandah, but rather drove to a lake nearby. We were lucky in that we didn't have much cloud cover, and it was just wonderful spending time out there in the dark, watching this scene enfold. Truly blessed to share this with my wife and daughter as well.
A photo I re-processed as I thought the first effort was a bit over the top.
A brilliant, albeit slightly cold, morning to get out. Found this beautiful spider web hanging on a tree.
Last night it didn't look as if much was going to happen as there weren't really any clouds in the sky. I discovered this little lake not far from here. After the sun set, I was amazed at the rich colours in the sky that just kept going on and on, long after sunset.
Soft pastel colours contrast beautifully with the yellow of the flowering canola.
Last night was very windy and cold, I would say freezing, after we had a nice spell of mild spring weather. Good to have had a bit of rain though.
A dreamy sunset over the mountains overlooking the beautiful canola flowers.
I love this time of the year when the canola flowers. It brings so much colour to the early spring.
I drove down this, for me, untravelled road and ended here. This is what I also love of photography - that even locally I can end up in a new place to discover. Uploaded via http://www.expojure.com

Still in Secunda. Due to the pollution here, the sun just disappears behind that instead of lighting up the sky as one would expect. Still looks incredible though. Uploaded via http://www.expojure.com

This photo was taken the morning after my dad's funeral service. It was cold but everything looked fresh, and it felt , figuratively, as it was literally, as if a new dawn has arrived. Uploaded via http://www.expojure.com

We spent a lovely day yesterday on Robert John's farm, shooting at targets and having a lovely BBQ with beautiful wine. This is the view from his office/shed, where we sat into the evening, enjoying lovely company.
